It Just Makes Life A Little Brighter

Just eight letters can mean so much. What eight letters am I talking about U I O E V Y O L, now you say that doesnt make any sense, so lets move them around a little, I Love You. Three little words that can mean so much, and at the same time are often said without much thought. To some it can only be related to the physical act of love.

In todays culture a lot of what is called love is just the physical act. This is not love it is merely physical, but is often confused with the emotion of love. The truth is that true love is emotion pure and simple. Does that mean love cant be physical, absolutely not the physical part of it can be the completion of love. That is the way it should be, the physical act should be a fulfillment of love, not an end unto itself.

We have the other form of love such as a mothers love for her child and visa versa. This love is a bond that lasts forever. Im in my sixties and yet my mom still worries about her little boy. This feeling goes both ways, yet Im sure a mothers love is stronger than that of her siblings.

Sometimes the person saying, I love you is doing so just because they know thats what the other wants to hear. In that case a disservice has been done and it really affects both. The one who says it knows he/she isnt being honest and the one hearing it has a false hope. In the end they both lose.

Maybe if we applied a honest look at the world we would discover the main reason for all the turmoil is because we as humans have forgotten how to love. A lot of our actions bear this out, we have road rage, warfare, politics and a thousand other things that we get caught up in and its always the same. We have to win. Well when its all said and done, just what have we won. Its been said that he who dies with the most toys wins. What does he win hes still dead? Maybe someone who doesnt have many toys but lives longer with a partner that he loves, and who loves him is really the winner. It would appear to me that all the toys in the world arent going to bring much real happiness if there is no love. Now if you love what you are doing and also make a lot of money at it that would be one thing. If youre just doing it for the money then your goal is just material things. To some people material things are everything, but what happens when you either get everything or you cant get something you think you want. There is always that person who is right behind you out to get more than you have, so the race is on and never finished.

I have known many wealthy people and some enjoy life, but so many are so busy making sure that nobody is getting ahead of them or out doing them that they never take any real time out to smell the roses. They also have a tendency to only associate with people who can benefit them in business or is in the proper group. They couldnt even imagine having a friend just because they liked him. I guess in some ways you cant blame them because they have to be cautious because someone is always trying to use them also.

Now having put those on the tables so to speak, how about the real emotion of love.

The American Heritage dictionary has many explanations for it. Among them are:

1. To have a deep, tender, ineffable feeling of affection and solicitude toward (a person).
2. To have a feeling of intense desire and attraction toward (a person).
3. To have an intense emotional attachment to.

All of these listed are the emotion of love. If you really love someone and tell him or her so, and if you hear the same back from them, admit it you heart skips a beat. Your outlook on life just got a little brighter. Those three little words, eight letters, can make your whole day. Without love we just exist. Some say money makes the world go round, but it wouldnt be much of a world without love.

I think I prefer a life of unconditional love, with someone who loves me the same way. To me that makes the love for material things pale by comparison. Maybe you just have to reach a point in life where you decide that material things really dont matter. As long as you have a place to sleep and food to eat, and someone to love that is the real meaning of life. As long as you can say and mean it with all your heart I Love You then you have the essence of life. This of course is just one mans opinion.

Yoga - Contraindications For Inversions

As we practice yoga poses we want to do also inversions. Most common inversions are the Headstand and the Shoulderstand. But there are not only those two poses which are the inverted asanas. Any posture in which the head is below the heart is called an inversion. Whether you stand on your head, bend forward or bend back, if your head is below your heart, you are performing an inversion. This also means that Downward Facing Dog, Standing Forward Bend and Fish pose are also inversions; although those poses are mild in comparison to a Headstand. The Camel pose can also be an inversion if you bend back far enough. Remember - inversions are not for everyone! Your intentions should be clear when you perform any yoga posture. If the risks may outweigh the benefits there is no logical reason why you should practice any pose which can harm you.

Contraindications for practicing inversions:

If you have any of the following conditions, please omit inversions or work with a qualified and experienced teacher who will never put you at risk and tried to modify your practice. Anyone who has high blood pressure, heart related problems, eye issues, neck problems, epilepsy, previous stroke or sinus problems should never practice Headstand or Shoulderstand, and omit other mild inversions or be adjusted by the yoga teacher.

During any stage of pregnancy yoga should be practiced in a prenatal yoga classes specifically designed for that purpose or privately with a qualified pregnancy yoga teacher. During menstruation Headstand and Shoulderstand preferably should be omitted and other milder inversions should not be hold for long, but because of the controversy about the inversions during menstruation it is your personal choice. Let your body guide you.

If you are a yoga teacher explain to your students why the inversions can be dangerous for them if they have any of the condition mentioned earlier. Why not stand on your head when you have pain in your neck or neck injury? What first thing will come to your mind as you there? Ouch ... my neck! Can my small neck carry my whole weight as I am inverted?

Most students put lots of weight on their head and neck instead of shoulders. Use your common sense and listen to your body. Intuition will never let you down. Why omit headstand if I have high blood pressure? Because the danger is when your blood pressure increase from 100/60 mm Hg while standing on your feet to 150/110 mm Hg or even higher when you go for headstand.

Power Of Positive Thinking

Discover Your Kundalini

Exploring the Kundalini requires the student to trust in the challenging development of awakening their own personal dormant energy. The benefits and results are very satisfying to the individual who is able to unlock this potential power.

The results from uniting with your Kundalini are the comfort and relaxation for your mind, body and spirit. Visualize that there is a coiled ball of energy at the base of your spine that is ready and waiting to explode in order to share its wonderful gift with the world. It is not able to move because barriers are in its way. These are barriers that you have consciously or unconsciously have put up. Often times this is how Kundalini practitioners visualize this trapped energy that is waiting to be released.

Each body reacts differently with awakening this energy - both positive and negative. The best way to study Kundalini is with a qualified, experienced teacher. With proper training and focused study you will ensure the acquisition of the positive effects of this specialized technique.

A good place to start is with Hatha yoga and Pranayama because this type of yoga practice primarily focuses on breath and breathing techniques, which is the epitome for release such energetic flow. Through these means, along with a daily spiritual study that also includes meditation, the flow of energy will begin to unlock the seven chakras within the body.

Heightening Kundalini will access the chakras which can then contribute to the overall well-being of your nervous system. One of the results of this alignment is the overall feeling of increased stamina and energy.

When one experiences a true Kundalini awakening it has often been thought of as an enlightened moment of pure indefinite creativity, or as the chance to meditate on something that is bigger than ourselves, our surroundings, and our daily concerns.

Ultimately, it will lead you to have more confidence and have more happiness in living life from day to day.

Yoga in 2009 - It's Time For a Change

Yoga makes us realize that one person can change people for the best. Continued small changes can add up to major changes. The beginning of change, in any culture or society, starts within the thoughts of one or more people.

At the beginning of each year, we evaluate the past, plan for the future, and move forward with optimism. This year on January 1, 2009, the people of the world open their eyes with a vision of the future. We have choices and many decisions for 2009, but commitment is always the key to making changes.

It is so easy to lack commitment in relationships, work, and lifestyle changes. Most New Year's resolutions lack sincerity or commitment. The reason is because we have to believe a resolution is possible.

Barack Obama's campaign slogan, "Change you can believe in," comes to mind. When going up a flight of stairs, you are better off keeping track of each step up a stair case than to focus on arriving at the top step. If we do not focus on each step, the risk of falling down the stair case is much greater.

This attention to detail is a lesson we learn from life. If you want to make positive changes, write your goal down, but underneath the goal you should note each step that is required for you to accomplish your ultimate goal. This planning process is worth every minute or hour you invest.

No matter what form of Yoga you practice, there are bench marks and mile stones along your journey. Life is the same way, because small steps of achievement are the highway toward success. Some Yogis will criticize self-improvement, goal setting, and success enhancement techniques.

Consider this: If each of us gave up on the search for success, would we be helping our families or the world? Classic Yoga texts required a Yogi with a goal. The opposite of achieving is failing and quitting. Do we want to endorse failing and quitting? Yoga would not be the system it is today, if all of its practitioners were against self-improvement.

Therefore, see Yoga for what it is. Yoga is the mother of all self-improvement systems. Yoga is also the mother of all health maintenance systems. The first requirement, on the path toward success, is to see endless possibilities and reality at the same time. This is why Yoga students, of all kinds, take small, but sure, steps forward.

The 5 Love Languages

People express and receive love in different ways. Dr. Gary Chapman identifies these as the five languages of love".

1. Quality Time - Attention, quality conversation, time spent together doing something meaningful or enjoyable. Time is Love. Attention is love.

2. Words of Affirmation - "You are beautiful". Words of acknowledgment, encouragement, or appreciation. "You are a giving, loving, kind, warm person. I love who you are". Words of affirmation are words of love.

3. Gifts - From big to small. Flowers. Gifts. Cards. Cars. Houses. Jewelry. Stuffed Animals. Clothing. A gift can be a great gift of love. Some people feel most loved with a gift.

4. Acts of Service - Cooking dinner, washing the car, running an errand, cleaning the house, helping with a task, time spent in contribution to another.

5. Physical Touch - Affection. Massage. Making love. Of course, everyone has their favorite way to be touched. And, touch equals love to many.

Knowing these 5 Love Languages allows you to GIVE and RECEIVE love from others more fully. Of course, we all can appreciate and enjoy each "love language", however there is typically one or two that make you feel MOST LOVED. Which one is your primary love language? How do YOU show love toward those you love? What we tend to do for others, is often a clue to what we enjoy receiving most.

"If you express love in a way your partner doesn't understand, he or she won't realize you've expressed love. Perhaps your husband needs to hear encouraging words, but you feel like cooking a nice dinner will cheer him up. When he still feels down, you're puzzled. Or, maybe your wife craves time with you -- time away from the kids & TV. The flowers you gave her just don't communicate that you care."

--- The 5 Love Languages

How I've used the "5 Love Languages"...

1. Noticing my own "love language"......what makes me feel most loved? Then, I can ask for more of what I want. For me, that's "Quality Conversation/Time", and Affection.

2. FEELING more love from others, even if they don't know about the 5 Love Languages. If anyone in my life gives me quality time, a word of affirmation, a gift, an act of service or is affectionate with me......I take it as LOVE now. So, as a result, I feel much more love from my friends, family and significant others.

3. Noticing "others" Love Language, so that I can ensure my friends, family AND significant others feel the love I have toward them. It's not just about romantic relationships. And, it's more fun spending quality time, giving a word of affirmation, a gift, an act of service, or affection.....because I'm "intentionally" sending more love with each of these.

Get "The 5 Love Languages" by Gary Chapman.....and learn more about applying these concepts in your life to maximize the love you give and receive in your relationships.

Hypnotic Writing
Game Of Life And How To Play

Do You Know How to Make a Miracle Happen?

According to the wiktionary dictionary, a miracle is "A wonderful event occurring in the physical world attributed to supernatural powers." Supernatural is described as "Something that is not of the usual. Something that is somehow not natural, or has been altered by forces that are not understood fully if at all." Understanding and using those forces in an appropriate way is the secret to make a miracle.

What is that force we're talking about? It has many different names that differ upon your background. The most commons are God, The Universe, The Energy or The Quantum Field. The label you put on this force is up to you. Choose what you feel comfortable with.

The law of attraction is the most referred way to understand and use those forces. It can be summed up in those five words: "Ask and you shall receive". How do I ask? By the most simple ways. First I laser target on my goal for a while to make sure I really want it more than anything else. I want to be certain that my goal is in harmony with my total belief system, my values.

Recently, I wanted to be part of a group but I couldn't find the money to pay the membership. I knew it had something to do with my values. I then listed my values and searched for incompatibilities. A long list of rules to follow came with the membership. It was knocking on my liberty and freedom values. I had to make a choice to either forget the membership and keep my values or change the importance of my values and give the priority to the membership.

The second step is to repeat a positive affirmation in the present tense about what you desire. Here is an example: I am so happy and grateful now that I receive (fill the blank). By saying that you are grateful in advance sets the tone to your subconscious mind that you already have your desire in this physical world. Feel the emotion that your manifested desire will bring you while you say it. Repeat this affirmation as often as needed until you have the absolute faith and confidence that your desire will manifest at the most appropriate time in your life. When you reach that level of confidence, just forget your desire. Let it go and create the next miracle on your list.

Now you know how to make miracles happen in your day to day life. It is a really simple process that you can use right now. Start with small things to build your confidence and faith in your abilities to create miracles. It is a skill that you can learn like anything else. Your results will amaze and empower you.

Relaxation Meditation

Relaxation techniques such as deep breathing, visualization, muscle relaxation, meditation, and yoga can help activate a relaxation response. When practiced regularly, it can lead to stress reduction and a boosting of joy and serenity.

Learning the basics of relaxation techniques/methods/meditations takes practice. Most experts recommend starting out for at least 10 to 20 minutes and work up to 30 minutes to an hour maximum.

If you want to get the most out of your practice, besides setting up a daily schedule, it is best to practice when you're alert and not when you're sleepy or before bedtime. In addition, as it is said for all forms of meditation techniques and methods, find one that appeals to you and that is best for what you're specific needs, preferences, and even fitness levels are.

Different forms of relaxation you can perform in order to achieve the maximum relaxation level include the following:

Deep breathing - It is the cornerstone of many other relaxation practices and can be combined with other relaxing methods of aromatherapy, music, nature, etc.

Progressive muscle relaxation --- Involves a two-step process in which you tense and relax different muscle groups in the body and helps to spot and counteract muscle tension that goes along with stress.

Mindfulness meditation - Switches the focus to worrying or "over-thinking" about the experience of the future or the past and focus to what's happening now as the meditation is being performed using techniques such as body scanning, walking meditation, and mindful eating.

Guided imagery - Involves imaging a scene in which you feel at peace and free to let go of tension and anxiety using all the five sense on a subconscious level.

Yoga - Involves a series of moving and still poses with deep breathing techniques that will strengthen relaxation responses in daily life and counterbalance stress.

Tai-chi - A slow, flowing body movement exercise that emphasize concentration, relaxation, and circulation of the vital energy in the body. While it has its roots in martial arts, it is practices as a way of calming the mind, conditioning the body, especially with muscle control, and stress reduction.

You must keep in mind that it is impossible to avoid all stress. So instead of avoiding it, it is best to make peace with it and counteracting it by evoking a relaxation response. This relaxation response brings you back into balance, deepens your breathing, slows down heart rate and blood pressure, and relaxes the muscles, and with a little practice everyone can reap the benefits.
